Born in 1952 in Tanzania of a Scottish father and Austrian mother Pam came to Glasgow at the age of thirteen years. After gaining a degree at Glasgow School of Art followed by a teaching certificate she travelled extensively, including spending a year in Chicago where she was featured in Gallery Elisabeth and two years in the Seychelles where she was actively involved in promoting the Arts.
She has lectured for many years and has had many solo shows, which continue to draw admirers and collectors. Her work has featured in various gallery’s around the country and in the National Exhibitions: R.G.I, R.S.A and S.S.A.C.
Her Main inspiration is found in the landscape which are addressed with broad and expressive handling of oil paint. Colour is paramount and she changes from dramatic contrasts to subtle greys with flashes of highlights as the scene dictates.
Periodically she moves away from the painterly translations of the landscape and into a language of semi abstract expressionism where she concentrates on structure and elements.
