Blow Northern Wind Blow…..

Hello Friends,

Braemar is ceratinly looking windswept and interesting just now. It’s a great day to get wrapped up and go for a stride across the Birchwoods (think of the soup and fireside when you get back!). I think its one of the best times to see Deeside in all its Autumn glory - there are extreme squalls and sunshine in equal parts. It makes for a breath-taking experience. I have seen some of the most wonderful lighting conditions recently - so all you budding painters get out there with your sketch-pads and cameras: you don’t know what you’re missing.

Until next time.

Well, here we are friends: in the middle of Autumn already! I’m currently hanging a mixed Printmaking show - which includes screenprints, etchings, woodcuts, and some lino cuts. Being a printmaker myself I’m enjoying checking out other peoples printmaking techniques and approches to making prints. It’s making me want to to get back into Peacock Printmakers in Aberdeen or taking a trip to Glasgow and getting stuck in myself. The very smell of the ink makes me nostalgic….ahh!

I’m already making plans for next year, in terms of solo shows - I have Colin Robertson booked up for Easter time.

Until next time,

Andrew
