Well here we are already into Autumn and Braemar looks absolutely stunning today.

I am just wrapping up the Fiona Haldane and Jim Dewar exhibition which has proved very successful and will soon be rehanging the small gallery space with some new works.

The Braemar Gallery
is proud to introduce
29th August -
2nd October 2009
Fiona Haldane
& Jim Dewar
Landscape Artists
Fiona Haldane
Born in Dundee, Fiona attended Duncan
of Jordanstone College of Art, graduating
with a Diploma in Decorative Design,
thereafter obtaining a Diploma in
Secondary Art Teaching.
Her passion for pastels started about 10
years ago having discovered their depths
and versatility for showing the beauty
and often mystical atmosphere of the
Scottish landscape.
Now recognised as one of the leading
pastel landscape artists in Scotland,
Fiona is renowned for her striking rich
toned studies, particularly concentrating
on the dramatic skies and light effects
found over the Tay estuary. In addition,
the spectacular mountain landscapes of
the highlands, particularly the Braemar
and Royal Deeside areas, continue to
provide inspiration.

Jim Dewar
Born in Dundee and now living in
Monifieth, Jim has been working
professionally as an Illustrator since 1979
and since 1990 he has been painting the
Scottish Landscape in watercolour, and
on occasions acrylics as being able to use
the texture of the paint can often capture
that elusive mood.
Jim draws inspiration from all aspects of
the Scottish Landscape but in particular
dramatic locations such as the Isle of
Skye, the brooding grandeur of Glencoe
and the magical and often mystical light
infused forests throughout Scotland.
The success and popularity of Jim’s work
is reflected in continued sales both in
the UK and as far afield as Ireland, Spain,
China, New Zealand and the USA.

Hello Friends,

First up, Sorry. I’ve been neglecting you all recently. I see I haven’t written in the journal since April!!

I have a mixed show on at the moment. There are new works by Dronma, Jim Wylie, Tom Barron and Jane Duckfield.

I also have a little show at the “Lochnagar” Distillery. You can see several paintings of Lochnagar and the surrounding area at the distillery.
