As a printmaker myself I am delighted to have Margaret Pitt’s new body of work on show at the gallery. I trust visitors will feel free to quiz me, and I look forward to fielding questions on the various techniques and printing methods involved in creating this spectacular new show.
“My aim was to produce a series of original wootcut prints using archaeological sites in Aberdeenshire as the reference. I spent some time researching this subject in both Aberdeen and Stonehaven. In the final analysis I decided to concentrate on four sites namely Easter Auquorthies, Loanhead of Daviot, St Peters Kirk and Cairn o Mount.” Margaret Pitt, artist.
